Now in its 45th year, the Empire State Winter Games continues to grow as the premier multisport winter event in the country, bringing almost 3000 athletes and their families to world-class sporting venues in New York’s Adirondack Region and beyond.

This celebrated event, held in late January and early February, is the largest Olympics-style Winter Sporting Event in the Northeast, serving as a robust celebration of life, values, and community.

The ESWGs gathers some of the best professional and amateur athletes from across the region for a series of highly anticipated winter sports competitions. The state of New York will turn its attention to Lake Placid and the surrounding areas, offering ideal opportunities to showcase New York businesses.

Running alongside the Empire State Winter Games, the Torch Relay, a cherished tradition, will celebrate the spirit of the games as it travels throughout New York State and makes its final stop in Lake Placid to light the cauldron at the Opening Ceremony. This symbolic journey features a variety of community stops, giveaways, and media opportunities along the way, uniting towns across the state in anticipation of the games.
