44th EMPIRE STATE WINTER GAMES ADDS WINTER TRIATHLON
The 44th Empire State Winter Games (ESWG) is set to bring in more than 2,500 winter sports athletes to Lake Placid, N.Y., and the surrounding Adirondack Region, February 1-4, 2024. New this year is the sprint winter triathlon. The first of its kind in upstate New York, the ESWG’s sprint winter triathlon will feature a five-kilometer (5k) run, followed by a 10k winter bike and a 10k cross-country ski, all on the scenic trails of the Tupper Lake Golf Course.
LAKE PLACID 2023 FISU WORLD UNIVERSITY GAMES FINAL REPORT PRESENTED AT FISU GENERAL ASSEMBLY
ADKSC team members traveled to Geneva, Switzerland to attend the 38th FISU General Assembly and present the final report of the Lake Placid 2023 FISU World University Games to an audience of 164 Member Associations, the FISU Executive Committee, FISU staff, and observers.

Adirondack Sports Council Named Organizing Committee to the 2024 IIHF Women’s Worlds Championship
The Adirondack Sports Council (ADKSC) has expanded its events organizing portfolio to include the April 3-14, 2024 IIHF Women’s World Championship, being held in Utica, N.Y. The not-for-profit (501c3), based in Lake Placid, N.Y., announced today that Oneida County has named it the 10-day tournament’s Local Organizing Committee (LOC). As the LOC, the ADKSC will team with the county and USA Hockey to market, promote, and organize the global tournament and festival.
